Intervening in the Cycle of Abuse

If you are interested in co-sponsoring a workshop with us, we will be happy to work with you to accommodate your staff and format the best we can…

As our co-sponsor, we will work together to plan the training, with each of us taking some responsibility for the various tasks. This can save you time and reduce your costs while providing your staff with important information. Since we come to your site, it eliminates your staff time and travel costs. To keep your “per person” fees lower, we would like to have a minimum group of 20 with a maximum of 30 participants in any one workshop. We will be happy to work with you, however if you would rather have a larger group, a regional or multi-agency program or if you would like to schedule us at your professional conference. Sharing your request is the first step – we look forward to working with you.

To begin the training request process, read the following information and give us a call at 301-963-4751 or email, Dr. Kenneth Shapiro.

We will then contact you to discuss your needs, obligations of the two cosponsoring organizations, and determine a quote. Finalizing the request for training involves discussion of the arrangements, agreement regarding payment policies, and signing of the Service Agreement.

As our co-sponsor, we ask that you provide the following:

  • A training site which includes a room with tables and chairs that will accommodate up to 30 people comfortably

  • Promotion and recruitment of participants

  • Coffee, tea and snacks for morning breaks, and soft drinks for afternoon breaks; water throughout the day

  • Arrangements with a local hotel/motel to provide reduced rates for our trainers and for the workshop attendees – if they will be coming from out of town this may be in the same location as the workshop site.

  • Information on restaurants within close proximity of training site

  • A person to manage the registration including onsite registration

  • Equipment and technical assistance for the training

  • Offer and manage CEU credits where applicable

As your co-sponsor, Society & Animals Forum will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide the training instructors including their fees and expenses, including travel, transportation, meals and hotel – these may be negotiable items

  • Make available a workshop “Planning Checklist”

  • Provide promotional information

  • Supply all curricula, courseware, reference materials, participant name tags and notepads

  • Cover the cost for workshop materials and/or the reproduction of materials – the purchase of our Manuals, CDs and DVDs is negotiable

  • Certificates of completion for participants

On-site group programs will need to be requested at least 90 days in advance and confirmed 45 days in advance, along with a deposit. We will do our best to meet your scheduling preferences. We may need to work around our trainer availability. We reserve dates on a first-come basis and is subject to change until our Service Agreement is signed.
